Some of the audio sites we enjoy and use

High End Audio

compiled by former audio dealer Arthur Salvatore, explodes the myth of high end audio. He has compiled a fairly authoritative list of (mostly American) components that he rates as exceptional performers, however his essays about how the industry and the audio magazines operate are an eye-opener. One of my favourite online reads - Arthur's thinking has influenced the way Artisan Audio operates. Comprehensive links page.

Audiogon

is a US equipment marketplace with a fairly useful forum. I found the analog forum a fascinating contrast to UK audio fora. There are a few contributors who really know their stuff and several manufacturers contribute.

Audio Asylum

is similar to Audiogon - like most fora the archive search can yield interesting facts and opinions on even the most obscure equipment.
