Soundsmith's SG-200 strain
gauge system was reviewed in May's Hi-Fi News.
Reviewer John Bamford compared the cartridge to
the Decca, but without the vices, and admitted to
enjoying many of his old records in extended late
night listening sessions.
Bamford identified the low whole-life cost of the strain gauge as replacement styli are modestly priced and he also praised the speed and dynamics of the system. The overall sound quality was given a 87% rating.

of Soundsmith's Sussurro, a low
output, low compliance moving iron cartridge

February 2010. The reviewer praised the cartridge's
ability to resolve detail, its great imaging and

Hi Fi World published a very positive review of
Valvet’s L1 preamp and A1r monoblock power amps in the
March 2010 edition. Awarded four globes, the reviewer
identified strengths in the amp's timing ability, how
enjoyable they were over a wide selection of music and
how effectively they coped with difficult speaker
loads.
